Sex- and gender-sensitive Hematology and Oncology—Lecture Series Starts Up Again!

The former three-part lecture series “Diversity in Hematology and Oncology,” which has been held in recent years, is launching anew this year and will focus this time on sex- and gender-sensitive issues.

The Working Group on Diversity and Individual Medicine (AK DIM) of the German Society for Hematology and Oncology (DGHO) is once again organizing a lecture series this year on the topic of “Sex- and Gender-Sensitive Hematology and Oncology.”  As a new edition of the working group's previously successful lecture series on “Diversity in Hematology and Oncology,” the lecture series is focusing this year on sex- and gender-sensitive aspects.
Four lectures will highlight and discuss biological sex and gender and their influences on tumor development and therapy. Finally, best-practice examples for adressing and analyzing sex and gender in research will be presented to give all participants the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained from the lecture series to their own clinical and research practice.
