Beyond Bias - Ph.D. successfully completed
Our colleague Tobias Sachs, now a PhD, has successfully completed his dissertation, titled “Beyond Bias”, at the University of Amsterdam's Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR).
At the Institute for Diversity Medicine at Ruhr University Bochum, we investigate how diversity influences health and healthcare. Our work is conducted through interdisciplinary research projects that integrate biological, social, and cultural dimensions. In addition, we provide educational programs for students and researchers, collaborate closely with clinical partners, and are committed to advancing medical practice that is both scientifically rigorous and accessible to all.
Our institute conducts research on health care structures, palliative care, sex- and gender-sensitive oncology, and conceptual approaches to defining diversity. The research portfolio spans a broad range of projects, from clinical studies to fundamental methodological research.
Our programmes are designed for students, researchers, and all other interested audiences. They convey fundamental scientific principles and foster critical, reflective engagement with issues of diversity in medical practice.
Whether for research collaborations, teaching-related enquiries, or general information, we welcome the opportunity for exchange. All contact details, directions, and frequently asked questions are available here:
