The Institute for Diversity Medicine establishes diversity as a central field of research at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Researchers from medicine, nursing and sociology work together here on an interdisciplinary basis and combine different perspectives.

The Institute cooperates closely with the Academy for Diversity and Individual Medicine (acadim). The initiative networks experts from all over Germany, develops training programmes and promotes the transfer of knowledge on diversity medicine.
