2nd Bochum Symposium for Diversity Medicine
This November, the second Bochum Symposium on Diversity Medicine took place under the motto “Diversity Medicine: Luxury or Necessity?”. A diverse range of lectures, poster presentations, and stimulating discussions provided for a great exchange of ideas and exciting insights into the field of diversity medicine.
Just like last year, we invited many interested parties and experts to the second Bochum Symposium for Diversity Medicine this November. Under the topic "Diversity medicine: luxury or necessity?", almost a dozen speakers talked about how to recognise and avoid inappropriate care. While the first lecture session examined various perspectives, from gender and AI in occupational medicine to intersectionality in mental illness, aspects of gender sensitivity in medical research were subsequently discussed. Free contributions in the form of poster discussions also complemented the programme. The programme concluded with the presentation of current qualitative studies in palliative medicine and the awarding of prizes for the diverse poster presentations from various universities.
Information on the programme can be found under the following link.
The 3rd Bochum Symposium on Diversity Medicine is expected to take place on 4th November 2026.
