Ina Otte wants medicine that thinks for everyone
Factors such as gender, age, physical condition or socio-economic background influence how diseases manifest themselves and which therapies are effective.
At the Institute for Diversity Medicine at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, we research how diversity shapes health. We do this in interdisciplinary projects that include biological, social and cultural factors. We offer teaching programmes for students and researchers, network with clinical partners and work on medicine that is scientifically sound and accessible to all.
Our institute conducts research into care structures, palliative care, gender-sensitive cancer medicine and the definition of diversity. Our projects range from clinical studies to basic methodological work.
Our programmes are aimed at students, researchers and all interested parties. We teach scientific principles and promote a critical examination of diversity in medical practice.
Whether research co-operation, teaching enquiries or general information: We look forward to exchanging ideas. All contact details, directions and FAQs can be found here.
